Created by the merger of the two municipalities of Ferland and Boilleau in 1978, Ferland-et-Boilleau remains a peaceful community that stretches for dozens of kilometers along the dizzying Route 381. It began to develop with the forestry industry in 1890. This vocation continues to ensure the livelihood of Ferboilliens, who enjoy the privilege of living in a natural theater located between the Saguenay and Charlevoix regions, in an area of high mountains and lakes. The municipality manages two campgrounds: one, without services, on Grand lac Ha! Ha! and the other, with services and cottage rentals, on Petit lac Ha! Ha! with sea kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing and off-trail snowshoeing. The covered bridge at Lac Ha! Ha! covered bridge. The lookout point at the rest area overlooks Mont Dufour, offering a magnificent view.
