Parc national des Monts-Valin

Thirty-seven species of mammals have been recorded. The list of bird species includes 134 mentions, grouped into 37 families. To date, studies have identified 439 plant species, two-thirds of which are boreal affinity species. A significant number of temperate plants and some arctic-alpine plants have also been identified. The park also boasts 9 varieties of blueberries.

Fishing for brook trout (or speckled trout) is permitted in many of the lakes and rivers in the park, either on board a supplied or personal boat. There are two possibilities for anglers: day fishing or a fishing package with accommodation.

The expression "On the northern borders" expresses the special soul of the Monts-Valin National Park, which protects and enhances a sample of the natural region of the Mont Valin massif. In summer, hiking, canoeing, fishing and holidaying are the star activities. In winter, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing and cross-country skiing allow hikers to meet "Mummies and Ghosts".

The river Valin gives canoeists the opportunity to admire the mountain from a new angle. As they paddle upstream from the Discovery and Services Centre, they will appreciate the meanders of the Valin River and Bélanger Pond. Other beautiful experiences also await them on the lakes in the Martin-Valin sector.
