In the heart of Saguenay, the Chicoutimi borough offers a wide range of points of interest, restaurants and accommodation in its downtown area. It's a cultural city par excellence. REGARD, the international short-film festival, is a big hit on the big screen. In spring, the Festival Jazz et Blues presents a high-caliber program, while the Festival international des Rythmes du Monde has everyone on their feet. Downtown, the Festival des Bières du Monde and the Festival des vins de Saguenay attract their fair share of connoisseurs. A visit to the historic Pulperie de Chicoutimi and its regional museum is a must, while nearby, in the historic Bassin district, you can admire the much-publicized Petite Maison Blanche, which withstood the flood of 1996.
