Description

Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon offers exceptional access points to Lac Saint-Jean and the Péribonka River. Visitors will be charmed by the multi-coloured long sandy banks. The territory can be discovered on bicycle or foot, the 45 km long cycling network skirts along the peninsula's banks across 92 km2, or via sea kayak. The Véloroute des Bleuets criss-crosses the park over 15 km and represents one of most beautiful sections.

The ultimate experience consists of staying in one of our five rustic campsites along the shores of Lac Saint-Jean (cycle-camping and ready-to-camp options) or the Péribonka River. Have fun and learn through the permanent exhibit and the discovery activities on wildlife, flora and the history of Pointe Taillon.

The protected territory is populated by birds, beavers and moose. The immense peatland with its impressive plant life will peak your interest. On the programme: discovery and nature observation, supervised swimming, water sports, cycling or hiking and rustic camping.

Animal life is intense at Pointe Taillon. Obvious evidence, such as dams, huts and bevelled tree trunks, reveal the presence of the beaver. Moose have also established their headquarters in the park. During the migration period, Canada geese and greater snow geese stop in the park by the thousands. For the past few years, the sandhill crane has been frequenting the territory in the spring.
