Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc

Population: 1048

Where the Noire and Petite Péribonka rivers meet, Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc is a picturesque municipality. At the entrance to the municipality, the Vieux Moulin de Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc is an admirably well-preserved heritage site that provides a historical and visual discovery in the vicinity of the dam. The 27 m-long covered bridge over the Rivière Noire is well worth a visit. The municipality takes meticulous care of this witness to the past. Painted red, it creates a romantic picture in this hilly setting. Agriculture and livestock farming are practiced on a large scale in Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc, as evidenced by a number of large-scale agricultural enterprises, such as the Gaston Morin dairy farm. The Véloroute des Bleuets uses rural roads to pass through the village, which offers cyclists and visitors a rest area near the bridge.
