Chute à L'ours Site Touristique

The Chute-à-l'Ours tourist site constitutes the main access to the La Passerelle du 49e trail, leading to Monts-Valin.  Access to the site is free throughout the winter season.  A stay at the Chute-à-l'Ours tourist site offers the opportunity to discover an exceptional natural environment and appreciate the unique panorama of the 1.5 km of rapids, whose appearance varies daily in winter.  A package including accommodation, dinner and breakfast is offered starting at $149.99 per person.  Snowshoe trails, with equipment loan on site, as well as developed infrastructure are accessible free of charge.  The restaurant-bar, open from Friday to Sunday, offers a lively atmosphere.  New this winter: a km 0 comfort stop, open 7 days a week, offering a vending machine, a relaxation area, a dining room and toilets.

The Chute à l'Ours tourist site offers two hiking trails that can be used on snowshoes during the winter season.  Explore these magnificent trails and enjoy the winter landscapes.  The comfort stop, open seven days a week, allows visitors to warm up and enjoy a hot drink.

La Chute restaurant offers diverse dining, including popular regional and Quebec cuisine, as well as fast food options.  A takeaway service is also available.  The establishment has an indoor dining room, an outdoor terrace and Wi-Fi access.  Open from June to September and from January to March, it offers breakfast, lunch and dinner services, including a daily menu.  The location of the restaurant allows easy access by bicycle, ATV and snowmobile.  A room is available for rental.  Finally, a comfort stop (open 7 days a week) is integrated on site, offering access to vending machines, Wi-Fi and toilets.

The Chute à l'Ours tourist site offers a variety of accommodation including chalets and motel rooms.  Three categories of cabins are available to meet all needs: classic cabins, log cabins, and cabins on stilts.  Our log cabins, renowned among the most beautiful in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, offer, for some, a breathtaking view of the Ashuapmushuan River.  Recently built, these comfortable chalets can accommodate up to ten people.  Three new stilt chalets (four people) were added in 2015.  Our classic chalets also offer remarkable views of the Ashuapmushuan River and can accommodate up to seven people.  Budget motel rooms are available ideal for short stays, located at the entrance to the site.

TheMask8àtik8iche trail (2.4 km) runs along the Ashuapmushuan River to offer unique views of the Grande Chute à l'Ours rapids.

The riverside Arboretum trail (2.7 km) with 3 magnificent footbridges and nearly 1 km of wooden sidewalks, this trail allows you to enter the countryside to discover the regional flora.

Our four-bedroom establishment offers charming, affordable and fully equipped accommodation.  Located at the foot of a mountain, with a view of one of the site's lakes, our bright rooms are ideal for short stays.  Each room has parking, an outdoor space with a fireplace and space for indoor bicycle storage. A room is also designed for people with reduced mobility.  The advantageous location of our establishment, at the entrance to the site, contributes to its economic appeal.

The theater troupe Les Zanimés presents a summer comedy on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays in July.  The performances will take place on the campsite.

Our campsite offers several types of sites: 3-service sites of more than 3,000 ft² with 50 amp electricity, 3-service sites with 30 amp electricity, 2-service sites and campsites without services (wild). All of our campsites also offer a grassy area, a picnic table and a fire pit. Our wild camping areas are very well developed and close to the main basic services.
