Festival International des Rythmes du Monde de Saguenay

At each edition, the artists are selected according to the enrichment they can bring to the public by their music and their dance resulting from their culture, it is this idea which directs mainly the creation of our programming. After only 15 years of existence, it is almost 500 artists and artisans who animate the event by giving it the peculiarity to make discover and bring the Quebec and Canadian public of the cultural diversity. It is through multi-ethnic music and festive atmosphere that the festival becomes an enriching encounter with multiculturalism in the heart of a homogeneous Francophone region: the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. The public’s enthusiasm and commitment to the event is evident by the goodwill and positive comments that multiply each year. In addition to the public, it should be mentioned that the multi-ethnic artists demonstrate the great professionalism and the warm welcome that they find in Saguenay, at our Festival. In interviews with the media, these international artists have often been heard to say that the FIRM and the city of Saguenay are the places they have enjoyed most of all the cities they travel around the world. The Festival International des Rythmes du Monde de Saguenay has established its credibility and asserted itself at the regional and national levels. A world-class event that takes its place among the major events of Québec, positioning itself as the most important event specialized in world music and rhythms in Quebec and the third largest in Canada.
