La Maison coupée en deux

"La Maison coupée en deux" (The House Cut in Two) is a cultural venue in the heart of the village of Saint-Fulgence that has hosted summer theater productions for eleven seasons.
In 2014, the century-old house narrowly escaped certain demolition thanks to an idea proposed by local director Jimmy Doucet (*La route des légendes*) and supported by the then-mayor, Gilbert Simard. Mr. Doucet was looking for a house he could "cut in two" to create a life-sized theater set where actors would appear to be performing inside a giant dollhouse in front of the audience.

In 2026, the Théâtre du Mortier is taking over the "Maison coupée en deux" project in Saint-Fulgence. The initiative continues in the same spirit of cultural engagement as in previous years, bringing together professional actors and community volunteers—including young people from Mont-Valin School.
