Moulin des Pionniers de La Doré

Visit the Moulin des Pionniers, a water-powered sawmill dating from 1889! The mill is no longer in operation today, but it is still possible to visit it and see it working thanks to a virtual tour and 360 degree videos. The famous “Félix Trottier” mechanical workshop (1894) can also be visited. They are jewels of forestry and industrial history.

Discover the enchanted forest: a 300-meters obstacle course directly accessible on the site.

Access to hiking trails to falls 25 and 50 and the Mountain in Ouellet.

The Moulin des Pionniers de La Doré offers 2 km of snowshoe trails of easy-intermediate difficulty and a 12 km cross-country ski trail of intermediate-difficulty.

Camp du Draveur not available this year.

Unusual accommodation without services on the banks of the Rivière aux Saumons.

Le Moulin des Pionniers has 4 4-season accommodations. The 3 chalets can accommodate from 2 to 8 people, and are equipped with a full kitchen, bedding, a barbecue and a fireplace.

Le Grand Camp offers 4 rooms for rent at the year round, with shared bathrooms and an equipped kitchen. Bedding is provided. Each room can accommodate up to 4 people.

A room that can accommodate up to 75 people is available for rent in low season.

7 solo kayaks are available, 5 adults and two children (children under 100 lbs per child kayak).

The access to the kayaks is done without reservation according to the availability of the latter.

The trip totals 4.4km on the rivière aux Saumons at your own pace.

There is very little current which does not require any particular level of kayaking.

A canoe for up to three people is also available!

There is no extra charge, access to the kayaks is included with the general admission and passport.
