Tourism was born in Roberval in 1888 with the arrival of the train and the opening of the legendary Hôtel Beemer for wealthy fishermen. Since 1955, La Traversée internationale du lac Saint-Jean has positioned the town on the world stage of open-water swimming. This competition gives rise to a major festival at the end of July, while in the cold season, the Winter Festival, the Traversée du lac Saint-Jean à vélo and the Village sur glace draw the crowds. The marina facilities are the general rallying point, while Pointe-Scott offers the beach in town. The Véloroute des Bleuets passes through the town, which offers all types of accommodation and restaurants, as well as Camping Mont-Plaisant. Don't miss: the Jardin des Ursulines, the Boulangerie Perron economuseum, the heritage circuit and its architectural treasures.
