Canoe-camping:
Steeped in history, Lac-Kénogami was for more than 250 years at the center of a large network of fur trading between Saguenay, Lac Saint-Jean and Baie-James. Its original name in Innu means the long lake. Canoes navigated its waters, carrying skins towards Chicoutimi and Tadoussac. Today, Aventure canogamie offers you the chance to navigate these waters steeped in history and reconnect with Quebec's roots in the most traditional way possible.
Sea kayak:
At the gateway to the Saguenay Fjord, enjoy a sea kayaking experience in the unique landscape of Baie des Ha! Ha!. The place of arrival of the first settlers in 1838, this bay is full of history ready to be passed on by our guide-interpreters.
Discovery of a village on ice:
Every winter, hundreds of fishing cabins set up on the Saguenay Fjord in La Baie, transforming the Baie de Ha! Ha! in real villages on ice: Anse-à-Benjamin and Grande-Baie. These ephemeral villages form one of the largest ice fishing sites in the world. During this activity, you will have the opportunity to learn about the different species of fish found in the fjord, the historical development of ice fishing on the fjord, the functioning of an ice village and more. You will also be able to meet people passionate about ice fishing.
