Okwari Le Fjord makes you discover the Saguenay Fjord and its surroundings! Summer or winter, let yourself be charmed by our multiple packages including discovery of the boreal forest, sea kayaking, canoe-camping and much more. Depending on the package chosen, you will have the opportunity to discover the fabulous canyon of Rivière-à-Mars, take a rabaska excursion, learn more about the black bear or explore our magnificent villages on ice.

Activities

Canoe-camping:
Steeped in history, Lac-Kénogami was for more than 250 years at the center of a large network of fur trading between Saguenay, Lac Saint-Jean and Baie-James. Today, Aventure Canogamie is offering you the chance to navigate these waters steeped in history and reconnect with Quebec's roots. You will live an unforgettable experience conducive to the observation of flora and fauna, in addition to tasting delicious gourmet meals made with products from the region.

Boreal route:
This package gives you privileged access to a natural environment, aboard a rabaska, this large traditional canoe that will allow you to take part in an interpretation experience of the boreal flora and fauna surrounding you. You will also have the chance to taste forest products, observe black bears in their natural habitat or learn more about the salmon and sea trout that roam the waters of Rivière-à-Mars.

At the gateway to the Saguenay Fjord, enjoy a sea kayaking experience in the unique landscape of Baie des Ha! Ha!.

Available during the day for a period of 3 hours or in the evening for a period of 2 hours.

Discovery of the black bear:
Okwari Le Fjord is also a unique opportunity to learn more about the wildlife here! During this activity, a passionate guide will share with you his knowledge of the black bear, this magnificent animal of our forests. Then, if they show the tip of their nose, you may have the chance to observe and photograph real wild black bears from one of our safely situated observation tower. Let our experimented guides amaze you in this perfect forest excursion!

Canoe-camping:

Its original name in Innu means the long lake. Canoes navigated its waters, carrying skins towards Chicoutimi and Tadoussac. Today, Aventure canogamie offers you the chance to navigate these waters steeped in history and reconnect with Quebec's roots in the most traditional way possible.

Sea kayak:
At the gateway to the Saguenay Fjord, enjoy a sea kayaking experience in the unique landscape of Baie des Ha! Ha!. The place of arrival of the first settlers in 1838, this bay is full of history ready to be passed on by our guide-interpreters.

Discovery of a village on ice:
Every winter, hundreds of fishing cabins set up on the Saguenay Fjord in La Baie, transforming the Baie de Ha! Ha! in real villages on ice: Anse-à-Benjamin and Grande-Baie. These ephemeral villages form one of the largest ice fishing sites in the world. During this activity, you will have the opportunity to learn about the different species of fish found in the fjord, the historical development of ice fishing on the fjord, the functioning of an ice village and more. You will also be able to meet people passionate about ice fishing.

Fishing cabin rental:
Fancy a day or an evening of ice fishing? Okwari Le Fjord offers you its cabins installed on the Saguenay Fjord for rent! Choice of groundfish or smelt fishing. If you’re not sure between the two, we offer the option of adding a small groundfish cabin to your Smelt cabin rental.

Snowshoeing exploration:

Dog sledding is the winter activity that charms everyone! With Les Balades Solo, you enter a world of respect for animals, in which the relationship of trust comes first. Don't be surprised to see the pack roaming free! The pride of Dominic, owner of the company, is to see his pack following him by choice. Under the guidance of experienced guides, you can even experience driving the sled, like a real musher! This outing will undoubtedly remain engraved in your memory!
