Grand Rassemblement des Premières Nations

Description

The Great Gathering of the First Nations | Mamuhitunanu (GRPN) comes to life on the shores of Pekuakami (Lake Saint-Jean), on the ancestral territory of the Mashteuiatsh community. For millennia, this place has been recognized as a privileged site for meetings during the summer and the event today perpetuates this tradition by bringing together visitors and members of the First Nations.

The GRPN highlights the cultural richness, history and know-how of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh (Ilnu of the Pekuakami), as well as those of other indigenous nations. Throughout the festivities, visitors are invited to experience a moment of exchange, sharing and openness, in a warm and authentic atmosphere.

On the program:

  • Immersive cultural activities
  • Traditional sports competitions
  • Musical shows
  • Pow-wow
  • Fireworks on the lake

An unmissable event to discover living cultures, strengthen ties between peoples and celebrate the unique heritage of First Nations.
