Description

The CRYO Races are a truly unique event of its kind during which we offer running and cross-country skiing enthusiasts the chance to cross Lake St-Jean in winter. Runners and cross-country skiers bathed in the sun or experienced runners guided by the beam of their headlamps will find themselves in the middle of a sea of ice and will attempt to meet the challenge, both physical and psychological, of this crossing on February 24. On mechanically worked routes, they will be supervised and supported to experience this icy adventure. Four events are possible, namely the SUNNY Crossing and the STARRY Crossing of 37km* and the Micro-CRYO of 13km* in running, as well as the Ski-Lo!, a cross-country ski crossing of 37km.

All participants have the same objective: to support the cause of the On the Tip of the Toes foundation.

On the menu, 3 running races and 1 ski race background:

  • The SUNNY Traverse (37 km, mid-day departure, open to all with recommendation of participation in winter races beforehand)

* We are aiming for courses of 36 to 38 kilometers and 12 to 14 kilometers. The exact distance can only be confirmed in early February, once track maintenance has started. Indeed, the whims of Mother Nature could force us to make a few detours in order to avoid certain areas.
