Re-opening for the 2021-2022 with New Services
The Global Development Plan of the Zoo sauvage de Saint-Félicien that has been worked on over the last 6 years is now complete! Discover the Canadian beavers’ new habitat and the new observation pavilion that provides a unique view of the inside of the beavers’ den. Observe the 3 grizzly bear orphans and the red lynx in the vast new 8000 metre mountainous habitat. Take advantage of the new central rest space and relax in the pergola by the Rivière aux saumons.
Snowmobile Bridge Accesible this Winter
Washed away by the flooding in 2017, the Trenche River Snowmobile Bridge, located on the Trans-Québec 83 snowmobile trail, in Lac-Saint-Jean, is under construction and will be accessible starting this winter. It represents a gateway to the region for snowmobilers from the Mauricie region. For the past four years, in the absence of the Trenche River Snowmobile Bridge, snowmobilers using the Trans-Québec 83 trail had to cross an ice bridge.
New Freeride and Off-piste Sectors
Venture into the snow in the heart of the village of L'Anse-Saint-Jean. Glide along the slopes and off the beaten track as you experience the new off-piste area of the two peaks of Mont-Édouard. Enjoy the pure white landscapes that stand in front of you throughout your descent. A mixture of wonder and adrenaline awaits you!
Equipment Rental and More!
Starting in January, packages for 2 or 4 people in the Ready-to-Fish Formula for ice fishing on the fjord will be available at the Auberge Aventure Rose-des-Vents. Packages include: tent, fishing rod, auger, lures, and heated chairs. Snowshoe rental and guided off-piste skiing excursions in the Saint-Rose-du-Nord area will also be offered.
Canada’s First Universally Accessible Site
Carl Otis had a vision: accessible tourism for all. For him, everyone should be able to enjoy a holiday without constraint even with physical limitations. From this idea came a whole new accommodation formula: the ready-to-camp chalets with universal access at Centre plein-air OTIS Nature, the result of a close collaboration with the organization Kéroul and the regional company HabitatPod. Its goal in the coming years? To make Centre plein-air Otis Nature the first site in Canada to be universally accessible.

New Unit Located in Ferland-et-Boileau
An experience in the heart of nature combining luxury and comfort, on the shores of Lake Ha! Ha! This beautiful contemporary chalet, at Mon adresse à louer, is able to accommodate up to 10 people. It offers you all the amenities you need and a magnificent view of the lake. It is tastefully decorated and illuminated, and offers you large windows with views of all the central rooms. A true paradise for snowmobiling.
New Hotel Concept in the Region
Located in Saint-Gédéon, the Jaune Hôtel-Boutique offers three rooms with private bathroom, in an intimate atmosphere, a unique and original style. The premises have a potential of ten rooms. The owners plan to renovate three more next year, and the other four the following year. The room for the collective kitchen has been transformed into a small café: the Café Giallo which offers pastry breakfasts, a sandwich shop, and gelato imported from Italy.
Accommodation in Chalet
2 new rental chalets for up to six people respectively, as well as 6 private rooms will be available this winter at Moulin des Pionniers de la Doré. The perfect cozy stop for snowmobilers who use the trail that runs directly through the site!
New Hostel in La Baie
10 new rooms beautifully decorated are ready to welcome visitors in the new Auberge du Presbytère St-Alexis. A café/bistro and the Économusée of the Fine Stone will share the space in the near future. You can now participate in the workshops to polish a stone and turn it into jewelry!
Rental of Ready-to-camp Chalets
At the entrance of the region in Hébertville and close to the Mont Lac-Vert Ski Station, the Auberge presbytère Mont Lac-Vert offers two new ready-to-camp chalets for up to 4 people. All amenities are included: bathroom, towels, utensils, fridge and stove. Two more chalets are under construction for a total of four.
20 More New « Kamook » Domes
After a day of outdoor activities in the Valley of the ghosts (Monts-Valins National Park), head for Imago Village. There, you can relax and warm up in one of their 20 new “Kamook” domes. The warm atmosphere of these domes built from 100% local materials will allow you to live a direct contact with nature in the same comfort as a home. At nightfall, the place is perfect to enjoy your favourite hot drink with your family or friends.
Three Geodesic-type Domes
L’Éternel Spa is investing in a first phase to add more luxurious accommodations to its present offer. Three geodesic dome units will be built on the mountain overlooking the site. Work is underway on the grounds next to L’Éternel Spa and the domes will be able to welcome their first visitors in December 2021.
3 Yurts for Rent
Looking for an out-of-the-ordinary camping experience in the Saguenay? Treat yourself to a stay in a yurt at the Centre plein air Bec-Scie! After a long hike, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, you will be happy to return to your fully equipped yurt. Snowmobilers are welcome!
New Accommodation Site
The Village récréotouristique l’Oasis welcomes you all year round thanks to its 6 yurts. The Oasis is located in Métabetchouan on the banks of the Belle River at the mouth of Lake Saint-Jean, a strategic location which is ideal for several outdoor activities such as snowshoeing and ice fishing. The village is also close to the fat bike and cross-country ski trails of the Banc-de-Sable.
Food, Restaurants, Tasty Treats, Microbreweries
Launch of Three New Sweet Products
After training to develop their own caramel, three new regional products were designed: original caramel, caramel fleur de sel and chocolate spread. The products will be offered in 250 ml jars. The product is made at the LaFib food factory in Alma, and one of the main ingredients is Nutrinor cream, a local partner of Les Coffrets du Royaume.
Opening of a New Tartar Restaurant
The restaurant franchise Küto – tartar bar set up in Alma this past summer in in the city centre in the premises of the Travelodge Alma hôtel. It increases the offer in restaurant services in the region.
New Microbrewery
The newly opened Bercée Microbrasserie in Hébertville offers a range of four beers: a blond, a stout, an IPA and an IPA session. The products are available to consume on site in the dining room, which provides a light menu, and the beers are also on sale at the boutique. The microbrewery is located right along the snowmobile trail!
New Products
The new cucumber flavoured Gin Km12 of the Distillerie du Fjord is the result of a balanced combination of local ingredients. In it you will find the typical aromas of the plants of the boreal forest and the pleasant freshness of the northern cucumber from the Toundra greenhouses of Saint-Félicien in Lac-Saint-Jean. In addition, a brand new gelato with Km12 gin tonic flavours is now available on the shelves of Fabbrica Gelato, on Racine Street, in Chicoutimi.

Modernisation of the Carrefour d’Accueil
The Carrefour d'accueil Ilnu Welcome Centre now has interactive kiosks and tables to showcase cultural and historical attractions. Children have their own canoe-shaped educational space that allows them to view cultural content in a more playful way. Come discover the Ilnu culture!
A Journey Through Time in Saint-Jean-Vianney thanks to augmented reality
Stations with QR codes have been installed at different locations on the site of the old village. Using the Centre d’histoire Arvida mobile app, it is possible to discover the locations as they were before the landslide via a phone or tablet screen. Visitors can also hear the testimonies from former residents.

Discover the culture and lifestyle of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh through the seasons in this immersive exhibition at the Musée amérindien de Mashteuiatsh. Let Kukum (grandmother) and Mushum (grandfather) guide you through the traditional activities of each season. Soundtracks, videos, photos, texts and fun activities will also complement your visit.
Disheveling! An Extraordinhairy Exhibition
Discover this scientific exhibit that deals not only with human hair and animal fur, but also with plants’ hair! Here we cut the hair in four: four equally tousled zones. Surprises and discoveries await you at every turn. Experts in hair will be part of the exhibit to explain hair’s utility in criminology and environment protection. A production of the Sherbrooke Museum of Nature and Science with the contribution of Heritage Canada and the collaboration of Télé-Québec.
